Welcome and thanks for checking out our review of CinchTweet by Cindy Donovan.

What IS CinchTweet?

We got it so we can show you what it is!

FIRST though – before we jump into what it is – let’s see if if is even something that would help you.

Do any of the following apply to you?

You have a website?

You run an ECommerce Store

You have a YouTube Channel, Facebook Page, or a Blog?

If you answered yes to ANY of these questions, you want to pay attention to what we are about to share with you.

If you have an social following you know how much work is involved to keep your audience engaged, retweet posts, filtering out who you follow and more.

Anyway, let’s take a look at the features CinchTweet itself has to offer

It’s easy for me to get distracted, but I REALLY wanted to share with you the importance of this product for your business before I even got to my review.

Now, having said that… I have to say right up front that CinchTweet is the EASIEST to use Messenger app I’ve EVER used.

This is actually COMPLETELY different than other bots you’re used to, that work with Twitter. CinchTweet works with your audience to automatically grow it based on various filters and detection protocols.

It’s SUPER easy to use, and you’re going to find in no time you’re getting a focused growth to your Twitter Account.

Location Based Following: CinchTweet allows you to decide if you want to follow only certain locations. This allows you to target your local area and drive users from there to your business from your Twitter account.

Follow Limits: Within the software you can set your minimum and maximum ranges for followers. So if you want it to only follow accounts with 500 followers you can set that limit as your minimum. This allows you to make sure your following active relevant accounts.

Un-Follow: The software can be set to automatically un-follow anyone who does not follow you back. This will help you keep a more balanced and engaged following

Personalized Re-Tweeting And Following: Once CinchTweet has followed someone you can allow it to retweet their tweets automatically to your Twitter feed.

Negative & Positive Filter: You just need to apply the filter and this software will like and re-tweet based on positive or negative factors in the tweet.

Mentions Filter: You select the desired mentions and this software will only like and re-tweet those tweets with your selected mentions.

Video, Image & Vine Filter: Use this filter and CinchTweet will only like and re-tweet those tweets that have video, images or a vine.

Activity Tracking: CinchTweet will track all activity and show you the numbers of followers, re-tweets and likes you have gained.

Comment Posting: CinchTweet can also post tweet comments related to your niche and allows you to define what the comments are.

And much much more…

Here’s a quick demo video showing how it works:

It’s just a minute, and gives a better understand how this can help your business!

Pretty cool, right?

Anyway, it’s STUPID simple to use.

My CinchTweet Review

Haunted houses have local business marketing down and you could take some of their strategies and apply them year round. Haunted houses operate for a single month out of the year so they have to pull their entire audience in during that time or fade away like a ghost. They will spend upwards of 30-50% of their money on marketing. Their goal to bring the locals to their location during their single month of operation. How do they do that? Through creative local marketing ideas. Ever seen monsters roaming your local store or a gang of werewolves in a parade? I have on many occasions and you know what I may forget the floats in the parade or what I went to the store for but you know what I remember is those monsters where they don’t belong. Its unique and outside of the box thinking that every business should be doing. You can no longer just throw money at PPC campaigns and SEO and content to be found online. You have to tie that all in with offline activities that are going to create buzz online.

Picture Worthy Moments For Marketing

During the month of September you will start to see flyers and posters popping up all over. However depending on where you are located you may see monsters in a local parade or at a farmers market, in a store. You know what happens when people see this in our wonderfully connected world. Smartphones start coming out and pictures get snapped of the monsters and with the monsters. Then they send those pictures to friends and post them to Facebook, Twitter and Google. Now you have created buzz in your local community. Do something picture worthy to grab attention because if you do it will get shared its what we do in this connected world.

Top 10 FEAR Pics for the week of May 11, 2014 | Nightmares Fear Factoryand throughout the rest of the year.
Found at http://buff.ly/1kIA2Ij

A great example of the picture situation is Nightmares Fear Factory a haunted house in Niagara Falls which snaps photos as they scare you. Their pictures are famous for October

Social Integration

Every haunted house I go to or see sites for has began embracing social media. They have twitter feeds, Facebook pages, Google pages, LinkedIn pages they do it all. I am still surprised when I go to a local business and they have no links to social media profiles. These days social media and the engagement that comes along with it when you do something spectacular is a top factor in your success in local marketing strategies online. These main sites are where your audience is at. During the 2012 season we run a ton of Google and Facebook advertising and while we did not get to track a whole lot of it we did ask everyone Halloween night and what we found was shocking. Well over 60% had found out about the haunted house from those two locations. Not only that but on slow nights we could post a ticket promotion out to our Facebook fan base and in some occasions double our attendance. Whats that online marketing saying “The Money Is In The Email List”. Well its not just the email list, your Facebook following, Google+ and Twitter following (automate it with CinchTwet) work the same exact way. The great thing about Facebook is you can run ads on there for dirt cheap that target your exact audience so if you know your demographics you can go after them only. On Google you can target location specific really well also. With those two paid advertising locations you can do wonders.

Local Business Promotion Ideas

We give tickets away on the radio, Facebook and other places. One year we did hearse taxi service where we actually sent a funeral attendant out to pick up our promotion winners in a hearse. Talk about coverage on the radio, that went over great. We put the haunted house on the side of the hearse for promotional purposes and got tons of attention driving our victims to the haunted house.

NorCal Pirate Festival Pirates of Emerson – Google Search
Found at http://buff.ly/1kIGj6H

Other ideas are based around local events that can be tied into the haunted house. At the Nor Cal Pirate Festival every year the Pirates of Emerson bring their terrifying pirates to the festival and hand out flyers. Scary pirates, pictures and flyers. Think that gets shared online at all? Among that crowd which is also very likely to visit your haunted house… Yes!

Now imagine these iconic characters of your haunted house in a parade. Don’t have monsters and scary pirates you ask, well do you have a mascot? No mascot, what about sponsoring a float in the parade or doing your own? Now your in front of all those guests and able to hand out coupons, flyers, swag with your logo or business information on it. Think that might work? If your saying no you need to rethink because these haunted houses thrive on this type of stuff and they pull in all their guests in a single month. A mega haunt can see 40,000 to 60,000 guests in a month and on average spend $2-$5 per ticket sale on marketing to bring them in. This stuff works and it works well. How many times during the month of October do you see interviews and specials on local haunted houses. I always see something on my local news.

Local Business Marketing Scares Outside The Box

Haunted houses know how to market and they do it fast and hardcore. They push out tens of thousands of flyers to local shopping centers and related Halloween store locations. They participate in parades and other local events. They giveaway tickets and other swag on the radio and at local events. When you have to attract 40,000+ victims in a 1 month window you start a month prior and you push out marketing like no one else. Why do they do it? Because it is effective. The pictures get shared year round, especially on Pinterest. So when September rolls around in your town if you have a haunted house pay attention to what they do, some are small scale but the mega haunts you will find everywhere if you pay attention. Take a tip or two from this tiny industry that spends an incredible amount of its money on marketing every year, it could work for any business, just think outside the box and apply it to your business.

Local search is critical to brick and mortar businesses. There are several factors that must be taken into consideration for obtaining rankings in local search and one of those is reviews. Reviews are a key ranking factor for local search but they play a great role in your business success also. If you have no reviews then people will choose other businesses that have reviews over yours.

79% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations. Over the past several years there has been a trend in trust with reviews and fewer reviews are being read prior to making a decision. 73% of consumers say positive reviews make them trust a business more which is a 15% increase over the 58% in 2012. Bright Local 2013 Local Consumer Review Survey

The facts from the survey just reinforce how important reviews are. So now the question that remains is how do we obtain reviews.

Get Online Reviews By Asking Your Customers

The first and easiest method of obtaining reviews is to just ask your satisfied customers to leave you a review on your Google Business listing or Citysearch or any other site your trying to get reviews on. I did not mention Yelp since they have strict guidelines against soliciting reviews. The only way to get reviews for Yelp is to just make sure customers are aware your on Yelp.

Review Handouts & Review Business Cards

The next easiest step to working toward obtaining reviews online for your business is to provide some kind of handout or instructional sheet for your customers. A great handout for Google Reviews can be generated for free from www.whitespark.ca.

Another interesting method I have started using and I have seen others mention and talk about often are review business cards. These can be rather simple such as a quick thank you message on the front and then a request to leave a review. Some even put some simple instructions on the card to walk the customer through the review process. These however are not as detailed as the review handout seen above.

How To Get Reviews From Customers Via Email

Emailing customers to request feedback is a common tactic but a tedious and time consuming one. Well it use to be. There is a new review tool out called Get 5 Stars that was put together by Don Campbell and Mike Blumenthal. If you are unfamiliar with either of these guys then it is well worth it to take some time and check out their blogs. I have heard Mike talk on reviews on several occasions and it is always valuable.

Get Five Stars is an easy to use review tool. It allows you to setup a business in the system and then add your customers as seen below.

Once you have added a customer sending feedback is as easy as a click of a button.

Once you click the Send Feedback Request an email is sent requesting feedback. This email is fully customizable.

The email will direct the customer to a page where they can leave feedback and rate your business service on a scale of 1-10.

If your customer leaves a review equal to or above your positive feedback setting then they will be forwarded to the following page.

From here your customers can pick what review site they want to leave a review on and then click and be directed to that profile.

If however they leave a rating below your positive feedback threshold then their response is sent to you via email so you can resolve the situation in private out of the public’s eye.

Final Review Getting Thoughts

With all these tools at your disposal you are setup for success. You have to take action now to get those reviews. You must ask your customer for that review, then hand them a handout or business card. Make sure to collect your customer’s contact information which should include an email address which you can use to send a feedback request email via Get 5 Stars. Now you have all the tools now its in your hands to make sure your business succeeds.

There are several reasons you may need to use the Google Review Transfer form to move reviews from one listing to another. Say for instance you move business locations. You will need to create a new listing and mark the old listing as closed and permanently moved. In this case you do not want all your reviews attached to that old listing but to the new listing you create for your business at the new location. Google has made this a rather easy task in some cases.

Currently this should only be used if your still in the old Google Places dashboard which you can see a screenshot of below.

To access the form go to the following URL https://support.google.com/business/#topic=2794267&ts=3054546,3141976&contact=1

Once you click that link you will see the following Google Review Transfer Request screen where you need only fill in 3 boxes and submit the form.

Once the form is submitted it is just a wait game as the ball is now in Google’s field. If you do not see the reviews transfer over or receive any feedback within a week or two I would go to the Google and Your Business forum and post there for additional assistance.

Your blog is a great tool to support your local search marketing efforts. It is not just a place for you to write about your specific business services or how to’s on the topic of your blog. You can use it to spread the word about your business and its involvement in the community. You can get creative also and just write about things going on in the community. This is especially effective in small and medium size communities where the competition is less and your ability to attract readers takes a little less effort. This does take work but there are many tactics to use to increase the effectiveness.

Sponsored Events

Every event I see has sponsors these days. If your business sponsors any kind of event then you should do everything you can to get the most benefit out of it. Not only can you obtain links from event sites for being a sponsor, often times you are able to setup a booth or put up signs at the event. These are common benefits of sponsoring an event. You can take it to the next level though. Go out and put the event on various event listing sites, run some ads for the event, put out a press release about the event and how your business is sponsoring it. Blog about the event. Tell your readers everything you know and what a great event it is and why you choose to sponsor it and how they can come out and show their support too. Then share that post across your social network.

Speaking Engagements

Many industries give opportunity for speaking engagements. Military recruiters often go and speak to high school classes. I have seen lawyers speak about reckless and drunk driving. Industry experts speaking on topics at conferences. There are many opportunities. If you are an expert in your industry and speak at any meetings or conferences or even are holding a meetup for a local community you can take advantage of this on your blog. Write about your speaking engagement on your blog, give the details about it and link over to any relevant information. Put tickets up for sale or link directly to ticket sales if it is a paid event. Then share the post on your social networks, use some facebook ads to target the local community also to drive some additional traffic to it.

Community Events

You can talk about the various events coming up in the community. Since your business is focused around the local area this information is relevant to your customers. It may not be directly relevant to your business service but it could be of major relevance to a customer of yours. Give the dates, times, location, directions, sign-up links, add a photo or two of past events if it is recurring. If it is a major event can you work with the organizer to offer some kind of discount to your customers if they sign-up through a special page for your business. There are many events that go on and here are a few to consider.

Fundraisers

Parades

Holiday Events

Food Drives

Blood Drives

Your Involvement In The Community

Sponsored events, speaking engagements, community events are all items you can take advantage of and write about on your blog and push out to your network for getting additional exposure. These are just a few of the opportunities though. Consider holding local meetups on a specific topic, host a fundraiser, participate in an event and write about it and promote it. This is where creativity gets let loose, anything you can think of that involves the local community could be put to use on your local blog to help your local search exposure. Holding a holiday party, having a Santa at your business on a certain day, doing a toy drive bin, hosting a blood drive at your location are all great examples of things that you can do and write about on your blog, promote via a press release, run ads on via Facebook at targeted readers.

How Much Is Too Much

You do not want to only write about your companies promotions or publicity on your blog. A good strategy is to run about 20-25% of your blog posts as company promotion pieces. Then an additional 20-25% of your posts as company publicity and the remainder should be targeted at industry related content. If your a plumber you might write about how to protect your pipes from the winter cold, common maintenance. A lawyer might write about what you should do after a car accident. These are not exact requirements but if you run only promotional items about your business people will get bored and stop reading your blog so by adding in pieces on your companies activities and some useful articles that potential customers can put to use themselves you keep them coming back for more.

Let The Search Engines Know What Your Talking About

This last part requires some knowledge of web design. If you are not familiar with this then your web person should be skilled in adding the following items to your site. Schema.org has various code that can be used to mark key pieces of information to make it easier for the search engines to determine what it is. Some key schema markups you want to make sure you have implemented on your site are article markup for your articles your write and post for readers. You can also markup your bio page so the search engines can better understand it is talking about a person on that page. If you post any events you can markup the various event information also. Finally you can markup your business location whenever you list your business name, address and phone number.

Your blog is a powerful addition to your businesses promotion. Implementing a strategy you can make it work for more than just posting content for your readers, you can use it to help the search engines understand what your writing about and to tell about events. If you are not writing about your community involvement then you are missing out on a great opportunity. Take the opportunity to write about the various situations we have discussed here to get more local information out about your business and to help tie it to your local area and thereby help your local rankings. If you have any questions or would like some advice on how to put your businesses community involvement to work for you then contact us at local@grantbraott.com

Usually a Google penalty comes from actions that go against Google’s Guidelines. If you find yourself being a victim of poor efforts in the past then there are several steps to take to correct those issues. Google looks at buying and selling of links as a violation so they usually take action against that and those are some of the common guideline violations. A common way to correct issues is to use the disavow tool Google released to disavow the links that are breaking the guidelines or that are spammy and of poor quality.

If you have a large number of links from specific domains that are bought or spammy in nature then you can disavow that entire domain. Matt Cutts talks about these actions on a monumental scale in this Google Webmaster Help video.

Now if you have a few hundred links then using Open Site Explorer or Ahrefs and webmaster tools are some free and affordable options. You will have to manually look through and check the links for their low quality. If you have several thousand links then going through them can be time consuming so consider a tool like Link Detox that can speed up the process and export you a disavow sheet.

Disavow Links Tool

To learn more about the Google Disavow Links Tool you can view the following video where Matt Cutts talks about the tool and what steps to take to begin getting rid of your Google penalty. If you are able to get the bad links removed via email to the website owner then that is the recommended method and the best choice. However sometimes you will not get links taken down when requested or they may try to hold you hostage and require payment for removal or just will not respond to your emails. This is where the disavow tool comes in handy.

It has been close to a year since Google released an update to Google PageRank but that changed today. Google’s Matt Cutt’s has confirmed via a Twitter post. Many in the industry thought PageRank was just being phased out and for good reasons with 10 months since the last update.

If you are unfamiliar with what Google PageRank is you can view the past video that Matt Cutts did on Google Webmaster Help YouTube Channel about PageRank.

PageRank is a ranking of sites based strictly on the number of links to your website and the quality of those links. It has nothing to do with the quality of your website or the content on the site, it only factors in links and their quality.

Here is an explanation from Elliance, Inc. who created the following image also.

Google assigns a numeric weighting from 0-10 for each webpage on the Internet; this PageRank denotes your site’s importance in the eyes of Google.

Another interesting chart is the following that gives an idea of how PageRank functions at a link level from Speckygeek.

Here is a simple flow chart to follow for a few of the different issues you can encounter when you are trying to get your Google Places listing verified. If you have ever waited more than 3 weeks and never received a Google postcard verification or tried to complete your Google Places verification via the phone call method but did not receive a call then this will show you the steps you can take such as attempting the phone call up to 5 times or re-triggering your postcard verification. However if your doing the postcard verification and have issues or never receive your postcard it is best to use Google Places Help Phone Support so you do not have to wait an additional 2-3 weeks as you can loose a lot of potential traffic to your business listing and website if you have to wait additional weeks. Use this flow chart to help you bypass some of the common Google Places verification problems.
